Job Description
Constellation Search Group is looking for a Tooling Manager for a full time direct hire opportunity. In this role, you will manage all aspects of the Tool & Die Machine Shop (Toolroom), including the inventory control of die tools and embosser systems, and lead the Toolroom staff. You will develop procedures and maintain documentation for cleaning, maintenance, and quality standards of all tool & die sets, as well as oversee the design and construction of new tool & die sets.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance for all extrusion tool & die sets.
- Manage the creation and revision of technical drawings for extrusion tool & die sets.
- Evaluate new tooling requirements, supervise engineering design, and manage the construction of new tools.
- Coordinate the tuning of extrusion tool & die sets and ensure that drawings reflect the latest modifications.
- Ensure that machine shop equipment is maintained and performing optimally.
- Lead the toolroom's safety initiatives and enforce 6S standards, ensuring all associates adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
- Use precision measuring instruments (such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges) for quality control.
- Supervise machinists and other associates while collaborating with vendors, senior management, and the purchasing department to meet external tooling and machining requirements.
Qualifications/Skills: - High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification at the journeyman level (or equivalent) in tool & die manufacturing.
- 5–7 years' practical experience with extrusion tools and processes.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role overseeing technical teams.
