Job Description
Constellation search Group is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to oversee and coordinate our reduction, fabrication and machine shops. This role is critical in ensuring seamless production workflows, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting delivery timelines. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise in heavy steel fabrication, manual and CNC machining, and a track record of optimizing production processes and the hand off between them.
We are focused on the development, customization, sale, production and support of heavy mobile equipment for the construction industry. Their singular focus is to provide deep foundation drilling rigs for commercial, transportation, public works, and oilfield sectors. Our current product line includes 10 models from 25 ton to 80-ton machines available in truck-mounted and track mounted configurations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the fabrication, machine shops, and reduction department ensuring productivity, quality, and efficiency.
- Optimize production schedules, balancing workload and resource allocation across reduction, fabrication, and the Machine Shops.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to ensure seamless workflow from raw material to finished product.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, fostering a culture of workplace safety.
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks, equipment failures, and quality issues, working with maintenance and quality control teams.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fabricators, welders, machinists, and assemblers, providing training and performance feedback.
- Manage raw material inventory levels, material usage, material forecasting, and procurement coordination to prevent shortages or overages.
- Work closely with final assembly and engineering to ensure custom fabrication jobs meet client specifications and deadlines.
Qualifications: - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role within heavy steel fabrication, machining, or low volume made to order custom manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (welding, cutting, forming, CNC machining) and fitting techniques.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory control.
- Must understand blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proven ability to lead teams and prioritize jobs in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, quality control systems.
- Experience in custom, low-volume, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Proven deductive reasoning skills.
