Payroll Specialist

Job Description

Constellation Search Group is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for a full-time direct hire position.  The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the payroll processing across the organization, including weekly and biweekly payrolls for hourly and salaried employees. The role will support multiple locations.
  Responsibilities:
     
  • Process multi-state, multi-entity weekly and biweekly payrolls.
    •  
  • Verify new hire data entered by hiring managers.
    •  
  • Manage employee record updates (rate changes, terminations, deductions).
    •  
  • Address supervisor inquiries regarding timesheets and pay discrepancies.
    •  
  • Prepare and update payroll approval reports for final review.
    •  
  • Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and concerns.
    •  
  • Assist managers and employees in resolving payroll issues.
    •  
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
    •  
  • Utilize payroll software; liaise with UKG for support when needed.
  
Qualifications / Skills:
     
  • 1-3 years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll.
    •  
  • Proficiency in Excel (basic to intermediate level).
    •  
  • Strong ability to learn quickly and retain information.
    •  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    •  
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    •  
  • Strong multitasking skills and composure under pressure.
    •  
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    •  
  • High accuracy and analytical mindset.
    •  
  • Ability to prepare reports and records as needed.
