Job Description
Constellation Search Group is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant for a full-time direct hire position. The Senior Accountant supports the Chief Financial Officer and is integral to the company's payroll operations, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, journal entries, and cash management. The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring compliance with labor laws and financial regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Own accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Cash Management.
- Manage the payroll function for multiple divisions across multiple locations.
- Handle all aspects of payroll processing, including tax withholdings, child support payments, and sales tax returns.
- Manage local tax payments, including quarterly reporting and reconciliations using Excel.
- Oversee employee benefit deductions, such as life insurance enrollments, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Verify employee payroll data, including W4 forms and voluntary deductions.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
- Process government and legal inquiries, including garnishments, unemployment claims, and tax documentation.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual state and federal reports.
- Manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers, such as ADP.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related employee queries.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, tax requirements, and deduction laws.
- Provide guidance to employees, managers, and the HR team on wage and hour laws, compliance, and policy changes.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the President or CFO.
Qualifications / Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to independently manage payroll for multiple locations, including support for employees across various shifts.
- Solid accounting expertise, including Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, journal entries, and cash management.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Adobe PDF, and web-based navigation.
- Technologically adept with the ability to quickly learn new systems and effectively navigate payroll software, websites, Excel, and email platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
